The meter can be powered either by a D.C. mains adapter or by a 9volt PP3 battery (as supplied). The battery is located in the back of the case and can be accessed by removing two screws that hold the compartment cover. When the battery voltage drops a 'B' on the display indicates this. The meter will continue to function normally until the voltage becomes too low to guarantee accurate measurement and it will then automatically switch off. The battery will then need replacing. N.B. The meter will not switch on if the battery is too low or unless a probe is connected. GMET H001 SPECIFICATION
